To add to this, hand soap with lanolin works really well at keeping natural bristle brushes nice. The oil in lanolin works with the fibers in the brush much like it does on your skin.

The soap helps much at getting the last big of paint out of the brushes too, helps them to have a long life.

There is another way that is much easier "if" you paint often; leave the brushes in a solvent hanging so the bristles don't hit the bottom of the container. Professional painters using oil based paint always did it this way. Used to hang them in Stoddard solvent, but you can't buy that anymore. Use what your paint company recommends as a solvent. There are metal and now days likely plastic containers just for this use, have holders for several brushes and are basically air tight so the solvent doesn't evaporate (as quickly).
