Hi John,

For a race boat might be a great idea, for a general paddling boat for me it adds complexity and complex things have a bad habit of failing when you need them most.

What happens if it jams when it's really rough out and you need to get off the water? It looks like the turning parts are inside the boat, right where it'll be impossible to repair if you're in the water trying to fix it.
