Two options come immediately to mind...

1) don't reinsert the strong back/form assembly back into the hull. Put the hull aside and do the deck on its own as you did the hull. This is the normal approach.

2) slide the formers off the strong back and reinsert them in the hull using hot glue without the strong back, as is mostly done by those using an external strong back.
