Yep, me too ET. The Stanley version here is about $8 or $9 but the cheap Harbor Freight one while not quite as pretty for $5 works just as well on strips.

Occasionally I'll use a Stanley block place on the kayak, but even the nice one is only around $30. You don't have to spend a ton on planes for the thin softwood we use on kayaks. The expensive ones are nice, but most certainly not required.
