I am building a canoe for someone who wants a black seat to match the back band. I am going to use a Happy Bottom seat with the wings cut off and a layer of black neoprene glued to it. I'm looking for advice as to the best adhesive to use. Some that will hold up over time and not harden or dissolve the foam.

Apply two coats of contact cement to both surfaces. Place carefully! You get one chance! You can place wax paper between parts and slowly remove it as you press parts together for more control.

The seat pictured below has a neoprene covering over a carved closed cell foam seat, with a backrest from NSI.
This what I use in all my boats.
