I did the wood skeg box ala Mike Trutwin
http://www.kayakforum.com/cgi-bin/Building/index.cgi/md/read/id/213519/sbj/strip-skeg-build-log-for-existing-great-auk/
After getting everything else rigged I thought I had better be sure there was no leak. Sure enough, a pin hole, luckily in the front of the skeg box. I thought I had lathered epoxy as I was putting the box together.
Next time I will thicken the epoxy, and tape it with glass again(this is the painters tape holding it temporarily).
So now I am fishing in the skeg box hole with cabosil thickened epoxy, so I don't fill the cable hole at the bottom. Then a repeat on the outside.Any other suggestions?
