This is one of the few applications where I would consider using a layer of fiberglass mat, either on the bottom or between layers of cloth. Mat is considerably stiffer than cloth and it conforms to complex shapes better. However, it also sucks up considerably more epoxy, so the resulting seat will be a few ounces heavier than a cloth layup.
