I would think that the aluminum wouldn't make much of a weight difference either, but I won't know until I do some test panels. The advantage is that you can mix much more aluminum into a single batch of epoxy than you can the carbon/silica mix, so it would potentially use less epoxy. The description says it cures to a flat gray. Not crazy about that.

The object of restoration is a 96 Watauga Laminates Extrajet. The bottom has a nylon tropical bird print that was predominantly red over the kevlar. It had started to delaminate in places where the fabric had small folds in it, so I've sanded it down and I'm going to put glass over it. Top is blue and gold flake with a curly-q pattern.

Here's video of some guys in newer squirt boats. Nowadays they want them floating about 6" under the water when they're trimmed flat to the surface. Mine just sinks the hull/deck joint, so there's a decent (for a squirt boat) amount of buoyancy. The newer ones have hollows between the legs on the bottom as well as the top.
