Depending on the shape of the kayak, a Greenland kayak's deck works well with a sheer clamp, the Romany shape doesn't works as well, that's how I prefer to do the deck on a kayak. Put sheer clamps in the ends where it's hard to reach and glass the inside seam in the cockpit area. Works well for me.
