Mixing the colour with the resin sounds like a cleaver solution.
But there is just no substitute for careful accurate bevelling.
Some folk are not that fussy and are just after a fun project and a grand boat to go out on the water with, others already have a few boats and want the challenge of creating perfect works of art, even if it take quite a bit more time.
One has to ask, befor every kayak project: "which is this going to be?"
In the end they all get scratched up and battered around to some degree, and last years boat is always less interesting than the one being worked on at the moment.
In the end, when we are 120, and saying goodbye, it is not the imperfections in the fifty kayaks we left behind that will be on our minds, what we will regret are the mistakes we made that screwed up our kids.
Just finish the boat and have a blast in it.
