We have not compared abrasion resistance of epoxy modified with 423 Graphite Powder and 420 Aluminum Powder

I am wondering how one would conduct abrasion testing in an objective manner. I am thinking one could take some identical coupons and coat them with the different preparations of graphite, aluminum and silica. then drag a weighted abrasive sheet over them and compare them visually. Or would it be better to put the different preparations on different areas of squirt boat and take it paddling and compare the different areas. In my mind neither is very objective.

I am dealing with a similar frustration of gouges and scratches in the boats I take to races. I need to bring them home and let the wood dry out for a few days before they can be repaired. Then the repair has to be cured, and faired before I leave for the next race. If I could find something that lets me avoid repairing the boat for a few weeks that would be ideal.
