I don't know what changes that Bjorn made vs. the Ken Taylor boat, but I wouldn't take the Ken Taylor boat on expedition. It just doesn't have enough volume and it pearls pretty bad. It isn't nearly as stable as the standard expedition kayak, the NDK Explorer. Pic of the Ken Taylor boat below. I call it the Iggy.

It's definitely not a replica. My understanding is the Alleq is basically a plywood version of the Seabird Qanik. Here's what they say:
