Well, after a couple of months of cutting, stripping, bending wood to shapes the good lord never intended, epoxy fill coats and fiberglassing, more sanding, more epoxy.... I am going to cut hatches today! Only a bit nervous about cutting into what has turned out to be a very pretty conglomeration of wood and epoxy, but it is my first kayak... so wanted to do a bit of everything. Next time I post a pic, it will either be a kayak with nice hatches.. or a weenie roast. Say a prayer for steady hands..
