I was thinking of a two cable system--both would only be pulling--avoiding the dreaded pushing.

Is there a design out there? Could the skeg box I have be easily modified for the two cable set up?

I was thinking if the cables formed an elongated circle (think that equals an oval) it should be possible to make this work. Since the coaming is pretty much an oval I could run the tubing just inside the coaming opening under the deck. I guess one cable would have to go to the stern and then turn back towards the bow connecting with the skeg box blade from the stern side. I'm thinking that would mean a pretty long run of cable and sometimes more equals more chance of a problem,

I sure am glad I have not been over thinking this build.:)
