However, you shouldn't discount the possibility of having lumber freighted to you; it can be surprisingly cheap - I've had lumber shipped from A&M Wood in Ontario to me in BC.
I turned up Bear Creek lumber in WA in a search.
I have Westwind lumber local to me in Victoria, BC, but it probably wouldn't pay to try to ship lumber cross-border for a small amount.
I've found most specialty lumber suppliers to be quite helpful - perhaps some phone calls will turn up a good Portland source.
