If you are painting over epoxy (no varnish or other paint) you can use car (auto) paint. Most auto body paint shops can pack your choice of paint into an aerosol can. (Primer first). There's a huge range of colors in auto paint, and it's made to be outdoors 24/7.
I've painted a few boats with Valspar 2-part auto paint and they are holding up just fine. The one-part paints you can get in an aerosol can won't be as tough, though.

If you are on a budget, most any paint will do for a while, as Marc stated. Brush or roller will look just fine, and will be cheaper than aerosol cans.

(I put a $ value on the hassle of re-painting...but if it's a kids' boat, a new color scheme may be wanted every few years....).
