My only interaction with a beaver was many years ago walking my two dogs. Beaver had built a dam in the local stream and I stopped to watch them at work. The dogs were well behaved and sat on command; the largest beaver seem interested and swam closer with the two kits, they were playing just a few feet off shore, rolling over in the water then stopping to stare at me and the dogs. The dogs couldn't stand it any longer, they stood and barked, and there were three tails slaps in quick succession and the beavers were gone.
