I've been looking over the yostwerks designs, and I'm having trouble deciding which boat to build. I've narrowed it down to either the Sea Cruiser R, the Sea Tour 15R, or the Sea Tour 17R. I'm a very new paddler -- I've been out in some plastic rentals before, but I'm looking to get more into it with my own folder. I'd like to have reasonably good initial stability since I'm new. I'd also like to have some storage capacity for one or two night camping trips at most, nothing crazy.

I had originally settled on the Sea Cruiser R. However, I found a few random posts by Tom which lead me to more information. In one post, he claimed that the 17 foot boats tend to be faster due to the higher waterline. I liked the slightly shorter Sea Tour 15 since I figured it would be less unwieldy to build, but I would prefer slightly more speed and storage. Another post by someone claimed that the multi-chine boats were the way to go, since they're wider and have better initial stability. However, I may not have ordered enough tubing for a full blown Sea Tour EXP-15, and all that extra tubing would be pretty heavy.

In short: given my (very limited) experience, which boat (Sea Cruiser R vs. Sea Tour 17R) would be more suitable? What are the differences between the two?
