I know you have been told about Stitch and Gle and Strip built boats. But do not neglect to look at Sin On frame as a n option. They are cheaper to build and take lss time. Tom Yost as some kayak plans free at his web site, yost weeks.com. Plus Jeff Horton has plans and kits available as does Dave Gentry.
I have built Stitch and Glue boats, helped build a strip built canoe, and built a couple of Skin on Frame Kayaks. I enjoyed the. Process of construction on each and every one.
It is like trying different types of beer - they are all good I each in its own way.
