Epoxy: epoxy again, or move on?

On my first kayak, I finished glassing the hull exterior and have a question before I move on - or not.

I have some areas that are rougher than others with the glass fabric weave. I have no doubt that it's covered with epoxy and the glass is bonded and filled.. The question is whether I should go after this now, with sanding and more epoxy or whether the varnish will accomplish the same. I have to sand in either case, of course, but prefer to move on unless inadvisable.

Another question related to an observation: I have some spots either on the wood, glass or epoxy that show up as green/brown on the Sitka Spruce. My feeling is that this is from perspiration drips (I live in Houston and it's almost unpreventable). Do you think that sounds right? If not, what? Is it something I need to go after for structural reasons? (again, preferring to move on as it's primarily on the hull bottom)
