Thanks Marc, I have not tried magnetic hatches. I have a sense that given enough time they will rust and Burst their moorings.

I am still getting used to these internal bungies, they are awkward, but fine for this boat, as the hatches do not need to be accessed much.

For a touring boat I still prefer my old style hatches .

In the end I always go back to the old bungie over the top hold downs. Simple, secure and easy to use under any conditions.
