Depends, how's that for a good answer?
If the boat continued to be treated as it was before, not real carefully, the epoxy will likely break down in the UV and cause a problem down the road.
Since someone decided to pull an expensive glass kayak up on rocks, the odds are pretty good they won't follow instructions either.
