Another option to the disk sander is a belt sander. You can make a jig to hold the sander in its side, and make a table for holding the forms normal (perpendicular) to the belt. This also gives you the option of using the exposed front roller to sand concave curves on the forms. IIRC Rob Macks has a picture or two of the sander/jig in his book.
