I'm using magnets to secure my hatches. Yesterday I built the hatch stops using Joe Greenley's process (http://www.redfishkayak.com/livingston.htm). There's a major problem though - while I thought I had masked properly, this morning I find that the thickened epoxy leaked under the edge and into the gap between the hatch cover and the opening. Now I have two nice hatches that are bonded to the deck. I'm going to attempt to cut through the thickened epoxy filling the gap, but I'm worried there's an even bigger mess under there and that the hatch will be bonded in other places underneath, not just in the gap.
I know - I should have checked the masking multiple times! Any pointers on how I can get the hatch covers off without destroying the hatch stops I built yesterday?
