As Marc said, a virtually identical device was marketed just a few years ago and it went nowhere. It's just not a good design, nor is it a viable product. While I'm all for trying to be inclusive of potential paddlers with physical limitations, my concern is that this will just encourage people who cannot paddle safely. If someone can't even handle the minimal weight of a paddle, what would they do in a capsize situation? Self rescue and even assisted rescue would likely be impossible. I'll dispense a bit of "tough love" here and state that there are some people who simply shouldn't be on the water, for their own safety's sake.
