Definitely a canoe, and I didn't answer your previous question, definitely a tandem.

I'm fairly dedicated to the notion of a skin-on-frame. I'd like to recycle my new skill set from my previous build (I understand that traditional method is very different than fuselage method), I'll end up using much less very expensive lumber ($70 for each 14ft 11/16x8" plank for my last build) and I already have the fabric because I ordered a bunch extra last time. I am also still sitting on some of the cedar and I think I have enough red oak (cut this spring and air dried over summer) to do the ribs should I chose that material and method.

Thinking out of the box here... I'm wondering about bringing the skin up to the yoke with two "triangles" with catenary curves out to the gunwales to provide some of the skin stability that is lost in a canoe compared to the closed top of a kayak. Perhaps I'm crazy as the yoke itself has much more pull-together strength in it, though localized on the gunwale to a single point.
