Is "giving" bad or suspicious?

Here's a couple of guys who just like "giving". Perhaps they are just content in life and want to share with others. Actually that's what they say they do.

There's also nothing wrong with making a living. One is not good or bad, however I do think that giving is a high spiritual aspiration and has nothing to do with the quality of a design. It's actually rare to find a design that is absolutely horrible. Usually paddlers want something from their boat and most of the time, people who design are pretty accurate with their descriptions. I only know of one horrible home-build boat design that is no longer sold.

You're right about people's bias attachment to things they own. I have known saab owners who would tell you how wonderful the car was and then about the transmission that had to be replaced, and the valve job, and on and on with electrical and fuel problems. Highest frequency of repair and maintenance of any car yet the owners think they are wonderful and "safe".
