I haven't noticed any issues with Redwood, as far as fiberglass is concerned. It does splinter fairly easy, maybe a little worse than Cedar. I bevel my strips, maybe bead and cove would be more difficult. The stuff I used had on the order of 50rings per inch, it was more dent resistand than the Cedar I've used. The biggest issue I had was with bending, the Petrel has lots of fairly tight bends and at some points I struggled. With a little heat and careful clamping I got through it.
