I changed the LV for a a fiberglass builder who is making a mold and a bunch of kayaks from the mold. The changes were made to accommodate the mold building.

This is what primarily was done: The biggest change was that I added width to the keel to round it out. This happens automagically when building with strips, but not so much with fiberglass. I also modified the stern just a touch and added a bit of volume to the bow to make the ride drier.

I liked the changed so much for fiberglass that I rolled them out into the strip plans. The changes are subtle but I think they make the kayak not only look better but will also perform better. The bow volume feedback was from a builder of the LV. The stern stem was slightly stiffened up, but the bow remains the same.

I have paddling reports from builders -- the secondary is fine. Think about the same as a Romany. The thing that I personally wanted to change between the Bay and the LV was secondary. I felt that for me the Bay had too much secondary. It was hard to get it over onto an extreme edge, and it always fought you, because the flare wanted it to go back to the primary. The LV removed a bit of the flare in favor for a more boxy shape. There isn't a huge difference between the two, but it made a difference.

You have the SOF version, right? That's the same as the Bay, except multi-chined. It has less stability than either the Bay or LV.
