Back bevel the deck and hull joint edges. Do a test fit with tape, to make certain the joint is tight.
Apply thickened epoxy to the joint, on the last 6" near each stem. Tape the deck to hull with 2" clear heavy duty 3M (don't cheap out on this) tape. Short strips of this tape are strong enough to hold an elephant.
Tape the seam to seal it so epoxy will not leak out when you glass the interior seams.
Use your #1 lamination for the cockpit to mark an accurate cockpit shape and score the line with a new blade in a razor knife. Scoring the line first breaks the glass threads so, the glass along the cut edge isn't pulled up by the jig saw blade which can delaminate the glass from the wood along the cut edge. Cut out the cockpit with a very fine 32 tooth metal cutting blade in a jig saw. Set your jig saw cutting action to straight up and down rather than orbiting if you have those options.
Mark your hatch openings with a white grease pencil. Score the line with a new blade in a razor knife. Drill four small holes in a line. Insert the jig saw blade and cut on one edge of the drawn line for accuracy.
Continue with cockpit coaming and hatches construction.
