Just wanted to check if anyone has an internet source to ordering some....4 0z fiberglass seam tape.... I have searched and can only locate 6 oz or better. This is my first build and I am not experienced at all with the fiberglassing phase of the project, so needless to say my techniques may not be the best... My build is a 11' Little Auk with WRC.
I glassed the entire kayak with 6 oz cloth inside and out...glassed the inside seam with 8 oz tape.. My hope is that the lesser ounce cloth would help me transition the seam on the outside to be not as noticeable due to my fiberglassing skill level.
I don't think that I should be worried much about the strength of the 4 oz cloth since this style kayak will only be used for flat water touring only and should not experience as much stress as other models.
Hope someone can help me out... or am I stressing too much over a few ounces....
