Well you still end up with two passes through the saw, just rip the boards into strips then on the next step set up the saw with the angle on the blade and run all the strips again through the saw cutting the angle on one side. Personally I'd cut a small angle (and on my next stripper I'll do that) like 3 degrees and then I can plane any extra needed easily but I won't have to reduce the angle where it's not needed as often.
Also since when you're cutting off the angle on the strips the resulting waste will be tiny if there is any wood at all left and not just sawdust, the risks of a piece getting thrown off the saw is reduced to almost nothing. A big safety advantage specially when you're cutting a boat's full of strips that tends to get repetitive and tedious so is easy to get lulled into not paying attention.
