Assuming you mean that the beam is 24" rather than the girth, the spreadsheet I use gives a very similar figure to Mick's calculator.
Wit 10% wastage, I come up with 950 feet of strips which would normally mean about 53 feet of 6" wide boards. However, your idea of ripping 3/4" strips and turning 90 degrees might complicate the calculation a bit.
You should also consider which way the growth rings will appear on your finished strips. Almost everyone prefers the face of the strips to show the edge of the growth rings. Whether that will be the case depends on the way your original boards were ripped.
If you're not sure what I mean, look up "quarter sawn" and "flat sawn".
