On a thin blade like that I would check in between strips to make sure that the blade isn't overheating and beginning to deflect/deform. You can also get very thin kerf 10" table saw blades that have laser cuts in them to dissipate heat.
For anyone considering doing this on a bandsaw, I would urge you to consider the investment of a carbide tooth blade as they are much sharper and last a lot longer - I've had mine for 10 years now. I'd get at least a 1/2" blade. the outfeed tables for a bandsaw would be critical, especially on the smaller bandsaws, as they're not really designed to rip 16'+ stock.
