Your hips and torso should rotate with the paddle stroke, so that your arms are doing less work and your torso and thighs more.

So if your right paddle is in the water and moving back, your right hip should be moving in the same direction, so it follows that you must push with your right foot.

Simple version is right foot with right hand.
