That's the same saw I have, Rob. I drilled holes in it to mount the feeder, which I think I'll keep using. As my shop is small I like the portability of it. I have room to work on 2 boats (3 in a pinch) but have to move everything for ripping strips. Having room for decent in feed and out feed tables has been tricky.

This Dewalt saw on the 2x stand I made for mine is lightweight enough that I've made a habit of putting one foot on the stand to resist tipping while I'd feeding the wood into the saw with my right arm.

I'd think a power feed would really make this saw unstable unless you have a heavily weighted stand.

I think you'd have much better luck in ripping consistent thickness strips if you ditch the power feed and hand feed as I outline on my "Shop Tips" page. I think you also need to focus on proper and total feed stands to support your wood.

Obviously, this is a lot easier with boards ripped to 3/4" widths.

I use one roller feed stand in front of and one behind the saw and two more "Rigid Flip Top" feed stands in front and two more behind the saw.

No matter how you set-up your saw, if you don't have feed stand support to support the full board effortlessly, you won't cut a consistent strip.
