Mine is really to large to fit in kayak. It was made to hold two boats.

If I were looking for a cart for a single boat, I would buy one. I have seen some decent DIY carts. But it is really hard to improve on the commercial carts. They are usually lighter and quicker to put together and take apart. I have looked at ideas for one but I keep coming back to a commercial cart. They are hard to improve on.
