If it's not too much trouble, you could gently separate the offending end of the sheer strip from its neighbor and add a thin scrap to the *back* of the strip, re-attach it, and then plane down the surface of the original strip as necessary. That way you'd never see the fix at all.

In truth it's not worth too much worry, as you'll have so much else going on no one (except possibly you if you have a long memory) will ever notice.

The sheer line strip went thin on the nose...I didn't notice this until I went to go glue in the second strip. What I plan on doing is glue a scrap strip to that indented piece and planing down a new surface fair to the 2nd strip, then explain to my wife that's it's a design feature of the boat.
