No problem at all doing a wet exit with a round cockpit, have done it lots of times.

Absolutely- it's a bit more tricky to get out without capsizing, though!

you can always just plop your butt into the cockpit, leave your legs dangling and paddle to shore, with the round cockpit your butt pretty effectively seals the cockpit from water getting inside.

I'd like to see a video of that one! And 'shore' can be distant or a rocky cliff in my part of the world, so it depends on the locale.

Anyway, boats can be modified quite easily...and it's easier to enlarge a cockpit than make it smaller. So, to be very 'youthful':"Whatever"..
