I am planning to build another kayak this winter and have been thinking about the new Yukon model since I first saw the pictures.
I finished a 14 foot Auk for my wife a couple of years ago and built a Paulownia stand up paddle board for my daughter last year. I think my paddling and building skills have improved to the point that I think I am ready for something a little more challenging.
We live in Southeast Texas near Galveston Bay and most of our paddling is in lakes, bayous etc. I am about 5'9" and about 178#. I plan to use the boat mainly for day paddling and adventure races with an overnight trip.
Has anyone here built the Yukon? If so, is there anything special about the construction or performance after it was completed that you feel might be helpful. Would you recommend it for someone of my abilities or would you suggest something different?
Thanks in a advance for your input. I appreciate the advice.
Mike
