Other: Kayak Sizing

Hi All, my wife and I are just getting into kayaking and some friends have a 9 foot and 10 foot kayak for sale. We will be using these on fairly tame water in the Delaware River, as well as on nearby lakes. I weigh 230 pounds and am 5' 11''. Do you think the 10 foot size will be OK for me? My wife is around 170 pounds. Thanks very much, Sam
