I agree that a 15' boat with a 13.5' to 14' waterline is a sweet spot for minimal wetted surface drag and decent residual drag at recreational paddling speeds but for overnight trips the storage capacity is pretty limited. Of course if you are a tooth brush handle cutting minimalist it would have plenty of room. Anytime someone talks about taking their wife along I don't picture minimalist camping but it is probably an inappropriate bias based on my experience. I am building one in that range for my daughter and it will have plenty of space for her.
