I am building a strip guillemot, I think I am picking up the block plane fairing of the flat and convex sections. I have the Stanley spoke shave but not quite sure how to go about fairing the concave sections bow and stern. Any technique tips?

Long ago when the world was flat, it made sense to work the flat surface with a tool designed for flat surfaces, a plane.

But now we know the world is round, so we use a tool which follows curved surfaces effortlessly, a random orbit sander.
