Strip: Standard strip dimensions

So, I just started reading the book, "The Strip-Built Sea Kayak," and as a woodworker I'm curious about materials, so I start looking at the things I need to build my boat. I must've missed it; I can't find the strip dimensions anywhere. So what am I ripping my strips to, prior to running them through the router?
