Actually if you're going to be doing this stuff commercially air tools are the way to go and there are some really nice pneumatic random orbit sanders out there. Of course now you're really talking expensive with a big compressor etc.

But air tools get colder the longer they run, electric tools get hotter. Cool powered tools last longer.

Yes I know the hose gets in the way, a real rubber whip hose helps much to fix this and that hose can be smaller so it weighs less and drags less too.
