Worse than that, it sands the blush into the surface. This is especially a problem with coarse sanding, as 60 grit paper makes deep furrows in the surface and it can be difficult to flush out any blush that's pushed into them. You may need to use something more aggressive than water to clean the surface, such as lacquer thinner.
