Gentlemen, thank you all for your replies but, so far, it is not looking good for finding a respirator.
Etienne, I already wear a respirator exactly as you pictured along with safety/prescription glasses and goggles. This setup is totally uncomfortable and the goggles are not air tight so they steam up and let in dust.
Bill, I also build aircraft but tube and fabric biplanes not fiberglass rockets and I use a water based painting system so I can't justify the high cost of the HVLP painting systems that also provide alternate air.
I have a vacuum system hooked to my ROS's whenever I use them but there are many places that require hand sanding plus I also build many other items that are fiberglass covered and require hand sanding. I am just finishing up two food trays to carry items from the kitchen to the deck made out of leftover kayak strips and 3oz glass. (Late Christmas presents)
I cannot believe no one makes a full face respirator capable of accommodating eye glass frames. The best I have found so far is a HobbyAir full face, remote air system with eyeglass holder - - - - $850.00 :(((
Considering my eye reaction to glass dust this respirator item has moved to the top of my list of problems to solve so I will keep looking and make a similar post on the Biplaneforum.com for any information available there.
