It took some getting used to for me. It is more rubbery when cured that what I am used to, but I'm happy with the extra flexibility. I've never had it fail.
My go-to glue is Lee Valley's 2002GF. I use it for almost everything, and I used it on my kayak. It is not a waterproof glue, but since your strips will be glassed over, waterproof is irrelevant. HOWEVER- in real-world testing I have found it to be very waterproof. for above-waterline applications. I glued up some strips and used them as garden stakes, and left some laying on the ground in the garden, and after 3 years, they were still perfect joints. Not opening up at all.
