Jay, yes I have thought about a gasket. Not sure exactly the material you are referring to, but I think I know what it is. Maybe if I add six more bolts each for 12 on each flange I would have enough uniform pressure to make that work well. Otherwise it's about the same as my silicone gasket now, over time compression and flexing will create leaks. It sure would be simpler to change though.

I think I know what i need to do, solvent the sillycone off, and glue those flanges on forever.
