I can say that "Goo Gone Caulk Remover" is doing a good job of softening up the silicone I couldn't get off by scraping. I'm on the third application and soak on a nearly clean rim with a razor blade scraper, and it is pretty much gone, I'm just doing this last cycle to help loosen up and dilute any filmy residue left, then will wipe it down with acetone. FWIW.
